It’s a privilege to be with the orchestra and make music in memory of their former Chief Conductor, Alexander Vedernikov. He died last year as a result of COVID-19. Alexander (Sascha) was a wonderful musician and dearly beloved.
The program consists of music that was close to Sascha’s heart, and that also provides us with a source of love, hope and an escape from our physical world. While this concert is for him, it is also for all the friends, family and community members we’ve lost.
Wagner: Parsifal Prelude Act I
Wagner: Siegfried Idyll
Prokofiev: Cinderella
(Vedernikov’s selections from the ballet and the three suites)
