"Sasha Vedernikov had a great feeling for Italian music"

Alexander Vedernikov, the Mikhailovsky Theater's chief conductor, has achieved a lot, but if it hadn't been for his death, he could have done even more for art. This is the opinion of the artistic director of the Music Hall Theater, conductor Fabio Mastrangelo.

"Sasha's death came as a shock to me. We weren't close friends, but we were good colleagues. In life, he was a very intelligent, intelligent, deep person. I've been to his plays and performances. In 2004, he got sick and asked me to cover for him at a concert in Finland. When he came to the Mikhailovsky Theater, it seemed that he had found the perfect place for himself, and the theater was the perfect conductor," said the artistic director of the Music Hall.

Fabio Mastrangelo noted that Alexander Vedernikov was a very interesting conductor. "He has achieved a lot. I am sure that if it had not been for such a tragic death, Sasha would have achieved more. As a conductor and an Italian by birth, I can say that he had a great feeling not only for Russian, but also for Italian music. I can't believe that this man is gone".
